AMA was established primarily to provide ADV Diploma level and vocational sector education and for the shipping and fishing industries. This role is amply fulfilled through the provision of certificate, diploma and advanced Diploma programs, as well as 80 non-award short courses and certificate of competency preparation courses. With the development of African maritime Industries there is an increasing demand for technical and professional personnel to take up shore – based positions in engineering, fisheries technology and regulation, marine resource management, shipping management and in maritime business generally. AMA provides a service to all maritime and maritime – related industries, including port authorities and the offshore industry, as well as maritime and fisheries administrations. Close liaison with the maritime industries enables AMA to respond readily to demand. New courses are constantly being developed to produce graduate maritime specialists who can adapt to the challenges of changing and increasingly industries. |
